Beach Volleyball Splits Opening Day Matches With Florida Memorial And Carson-Newman

CLEVELAND, Ga.- Huntingdon Beach Volleyball, hitting the road for their opening contest of the 2026 season, got things started on the right foot, taking down Florida Memorial before falling to DII Carson-Newman at Truett McConnell University.  See below for the match-by-match breakdown of each contest. 

Match one: Huntingdon-3, Florida Memorial-0

1. Carryne Chancey and Morgan Suggs defeated Julia Carneiro and Leila Betancourt 21-6 and 21-11
2. Kinsley Martin and Destin Roberts defeated Drew Lester and L'Fe Roberts 21-8 and 21-6
3. Molly Wilson and Cheyenne Ashworth defeated Serena Edwards and Isabella Cardona 21-15 and 21-12(decided match)
4. Jenna Dupee and Mileah Prince defeated Carolina Alonso and Aviyah Henderson 21-10 and 21-7
5. The match between Huntingdon's A'Kirra McElveen and Hannah Rutherford against FMU's Juliana Medina and Joemyrah Clendinen was not completed
6. (exhibition) Makayla Lawrence/Jessie Eunice and Carlee Cooper/Gracie Wallace defeated Tatiana Maddox and Anisa Wilson 21-10 and 21-18

Match two: Huntingdon-0, Carson-Newman-3

1. The match between Huntingdon's Morgan Suggs and Lauren Mason and Carson- Newman's Paige Halcrow and Trinity Hafey was not completed
2. Destin Roberts and Kinsley Martin were defeated by Ava Potts and Emerson Ahsmuhs 21-13 and 21-10
3. Molly Wilson and Cheyenne Ashworth were defeated by Camryn Ehlers and Addie Smith 21-14 and 21-11
4. Mileah Prince and Jenna Dupee were defeated by Morgan Foy and Lucy Bartee 21-7 and 21-12
5. The match between Huntingdon's Hannah Rutherford and A'Kirra McElveen and Carson-Newman's Kelcey Peterson and Madison Trondle was not completed

The Hawks will return to the courts on February 19th as they kick off their first home Beach Bash of the season against Emmanuel. Matches are set to begin at 3:00 PM CT.
