Hawks Split Matches With LaGrange And Emmanuel

MONTGOMERY, Ala.- Kicking off the first of their two home tournaments with a pair of matches today, Huntingdon Beach Volleyball fell to Emmanuel 3-2 to get things going before recovering for 3-2 win against LaGrange this afternoon. See below for the comprehensive results of each match. 

Match one: Emmanuel-3, Huntingdon-2

• Morgan Suggs and Carryne Chancey  fell to Faith Kelley and Leah Van Wyngarden 21-12 and 21-11
• Kinsley Martin and Destin Roberts fell to Maisy Beth Farvon and Kaleigh Morawietz 21-16 and 21-18
• Jenna Dupee and Molly Wilson defeated Maryn Barrow and Maya Hedden in three sets, dropping the first 21-15 before winning the next two 21-18 and 15-11
• Cheyenne Ashworth and A'Kirra McElveen fell to Brooke Lee and Aaliyah Lobendahn 21-10 and 21-18
• Mileah Prince and Hannah Rutherford defeated Madelyn Bantonand Alondra Rios 21-18 and 21-13
• Maycie Black and Sara Cochran fell to Dree Coursey and Alexa Moran 21-16 and 21-19

Match two: Huntingdon-3, LaGrange-2

• Morgan Suggs and Carryne Chancey fell to Alex Kravs and Julia Damico 21-17 and 21-15
• Molly Wilson and Jenna Dupee fell to Kaitlyn Smith and Isabella Zentkovich 21-11 and 21-18
• Kinsley Martin and Destin Roberts defeated Jasmine Gross and Akajah Burton 21-15 and 21-17
• Cheyenne Ashworth and A'Kirra McElveen defeated Danika Durham and Kaitlin Gilchrist 21-16 and 21-18
• Mileah Prince and Hannah Rutherford defeated Emerson Melvin and Riley Curtis in three sets, claiming the first 21-19 before dropping the second 21-14 and taking the third 15-6
• Sarah Cochran and Lauren Mason defeated Braeden Kessler and Andie Wright 21-13 in each set

The Hawks return to the courts at home tomorrow, February 20th, against Loyola University and Truett McConnell. Matches are set for 7:45 AM and 4:45 PM CT.
