Beach Volleyball Drops Senior Day Matches To ETBU And Nicholls

MONTGOMERY, Ala.- Closing out their second home tournament of the season with a repeat pair of matches against Nicholls State and East Texas Baptist for Senior Day, Huntingdon Beach Volleyball couldn't find their footing, suffering a 5-0 loss to the Colonels and a 4-1 loss to the Tigers.

Prior to the start of today's matches, Huntingdon recognized the program's seniors for their dedication, both on and off the court, throughout their time as a Hawk. This year's seniors are:

Match one v. ETBU

  1. Morgan Suggs and Kinsley Martin defeated Ceci Jalufka and Paige Dickson 21-14 and 21-12
  2. Molly Wilson and Carryne Chancey were defeated by Boston Morin and Bella Fields in three sets, winning the first 25-23 before dropping the next two 21-15 and 15-5
  3. Jenna Dupee and Destin Roberts were defeated by Katie Holloway and Caiden Lasala 22-20 and 21-19
  4. A'Kirra McElveen and Cheyenne Ashworth were defeated by Emily Thomas and Caitlyn Ellenburg 21-17 and 21-10
  5. Brielle Smith and Mileah Prince were defeated by Kk Domek and Luci Guardia 21-16 and 21-18
  6. Hannah Rutherford/Gracie Wallace and Jessie Eunice/Jayna Wilson were defeated by Emma Matz and Morgan Cox 21-9 in each set

Match Two v. Nicholls State

  1. Morgan Suggs and Kinsley Martin were defeated by Hailey Mason and Ana Valentim 21-12 and 21-15
  2. Molly Wilson and Carryne Chancey were defeated by Tierney Terell and Addi Prine 21-13 and 21-18
  3. Destin Roberts and A'Kirra McElveen were defeated by Madison Smith and Ariana Matallana 21-13 in each set
  4. Cheyenne Ashworth and Jenna Dupee were defeated by Carly Lang and Raegan Erickson 21-17 and 21-11
  5. Brielle Smith and Mileah Prince were defeated by Brooklyn Wilkinson and Claire Reed 21-19 and 21-15
  6. Gracie Wallace/Sara Cochran and Hannah Rutherford/Carlee Cooper were defeated by Isabella Padilla and Lizzie Kraft 21-16 and 21-13

The Hawks will look to bounce back on March 13th, kicking off the Mercer Beach Bash against Palm Beach Atlantic and Wesleyan. Matches are set for 12:00 and 4:00 PM CT.
