Hawks Taken Down by BSC
Montgomery, Ala.-Huntingdon Baseball fell to Birmingham-Southern, 7-3.
The Hawks took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first with an RBI double by Cullen Stafford. BSC tied the game with a solo homerun in the top of the second.
In the bottom of the 5th, the Hawks took a 2-1 lead when Ryan Greene reached on an error by second base and brought in Daniel Patton. BSC added 3 runs in the top of the 6th with 2 RBI singles and an RBI groundout to make it 4-2. Birmingham-Southern made it 5-2 after scoring on a wild pitch in the top of the 8th.
The Hawks added a run in the bottom of the 8th with an RBI groundout by Cullen Stafford, making it 5-3. BSC added 2 runs in the top of the 8th with back-to-back RBI singles, taking a 7-3 lead.
Tucker Duke suffered the loss, pitching 4.0 innings and allowing 3 runs on 5 hits with 6 strikeouts. Daniel Patton was 2-3 with 1 run. The Hawks totaled 6 hits.
The Hawks travel to Maryville on April 1-3. First pitch on April 1st is set for 6:00 PM CST.
