Huntingdon Announces 2026 Football Schedule
MONTGOMERY, Ala.- Off the heels of a 6-4 season that accumulated with a second place finish in the USA South, Huntingdon Football has announced their 2026 season slate.
"This schedule presents several challenges, but it is one that sets up nicely from a lot of perspectives.," shared Head Coach Mike Turk, who is entering his 23rd year at the helm with more than 150 wins under his belt. "Overall, the amount of travel that we have this year is significant. Also, we open at home, and don't play at home again for more than a month. We do close the schedule with 3 out of 4 games at home, though, so if we can start well and continue to improve each week, we will have a chance to make some noise in the league. Our non-conference schedule is tough, but that will hopefully get us prepared for our conference schedule, which includes 4 home games and 3 on the road. Our league has improved dramatically over the last several years, and I would expect this year to be no different, so we have got to continue to improve in order to stay competitive. Our last conference title was in 2022, so none of our current players have experienced winning our league championship. My hope is that this group is motivated by that."
The Hawks kick off the new year at Charles Lee Field at Samford Stadium on September 5th, as they host the Vikings of Berry College in the opener. Last season, Huntingdon fell to their non-conference opponent 58-28 on the road, while Berry advanced to the third round of the NCAA Playoffs before being eliminated by John Carroll. The Vikings ended last season #8 in the nation according to d3football.com.
Following the opener, Huntingdon hits the road for their next three games. The road trip gets started with a stop at Hendrix on the 12th before making the long trip to Abilene, Texas for a rematch with the McMurry University Warhawks. Huntingdon's first win of the season came against the Warhawks in 2025, as the thriller was capped off by a 80-yard pick six from Kalen Stapp for a walk-off 52-46 victory at home. After a week four bye, the Hawks road stretch comes to a close in their USA South opener against Methodist University on October 3rd.
Homecoming this year will be on October 10th against Greensboro College. Huntingdon holds a 12-0 all-time record against the Pride, and they'll look to follow up on last season's 17-10 road win in their second USA South matchup. The Hawks follow up with a trip to Rocky Mount, North Carolina for a matchup with NC Wesleyan before kicking off a two-game home stint against Brevard on the 24th and the defending conference champions, LaGrange on the 31st. On November 7th, Huntingdon will make the trek to Southern Virginia University before closing their regular season at home on November 14th for Senior Day against Belhaven.
