BJ Brown Continues Stellar Season, Earns CCS Rookie of the Week For Second Time

MONTGOMERY,Ala.-  For the second time this season, the CCS has announced freshman guard BJ Brown as their rookie of the week for his performances to close out 2023 against Montevallo and Paine.

The Birmingham, Alabama native led the Hawks shooting effort adding 26 points against University of Montevallo and 17 points against Paine College. Brown also shot over 50% from the free-throw line in both games. He added a total of eight steals, six rebounds, and six assists.

"Every day he comes ready to work," said head coach Zac Richards about Brown. "Regardless of whether it's a skill workout, practice, or a game, BJ brings everything he has and pushes himself and his teammates to get better at every opportunity. I'm very proud of everything he has accomplished this non-conference season and am excited to watch him and our team continue to grow towards our potential as conference season begins"

BJ and the Hawks open up CCS conference play on Friday, January 5th on the road at Covenant. Tip off is set for 5:00 PM CT.
