Hawks Lead Through 18 At Robert Trent Jones
PRATTVILLE, Ala.- Serving as the host team for the first time this season, #9 Huntingdon Men's Golf opened the first round of the Capitol City Invitational at the Robert Trent Jones Country Club in Prattville, Alabama this morning.
Despite a delay to start the tournament, the Hawks pieced together an exceptional opening round, sitting atop the leaderboard following round 1. Their four-under par score of 284 for the round gives Huntingdon a three stroke lead over second place, Washington & Lee University. Huntingdon's "B" team is currently in the 15th spot out of 18 teams in the field, putting together a score of 313, 25 strokes over par.
Stephen Baker served as the Hawks catalyst through the opening round, finishing in a tie for first place with a three-under par score of 69. Jack Burr sits just behind Baker in a tie for fifth place, with Cole Humphrey's seventh place tie rounding out the Hawks inside the top 10.
