Schreyer Named Finalist For Division III Dave Williams Coach Of The Year Award
NORMAN, Okla.- For the fourth time in his coaching career, Huntingdon's Dave Schreyer has been named a finalist for the NCAA Division III Dave Williams Men's Golf Coach of the Year award.
The Williams Award honors the national coach of the year in NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA, NJCAA Division I, and NJCAA Division II men's golf. Alongside Schreyer, this year's finalists are Steve Conley of Methodist, Jordan Cox of Mary Hardin-Baylor, Keenan Hickton of Sewanee, and Dan Rodgers of Carnegie Mellon.
Ranked No. 1 in every Scoreboard Powered by Clippd ranking this season, Schreyer's Hawks have compiled top-five finishes in all 10 tournaments this season, nine inside the top three. Their five victories came in a six-tournament stretch from the Tartan Invitational by three strokes on October 14 to the Capital City Classic by five strokes on April 7. Huntingdon has been led on the course by PING All-Region IV honorees Stephen Baker, Jack Burr, Myles Cunningham, Mat Gover, and Cole Humphrey. Burr is the three-time Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Golfer of the Year, the program's first four-time First Team All-CCS selection, and a two-time finalist for the NCAA Division III Jack Nicklaus Award presented by Workday. The 2017 NCAA Division III Dave Williams Award presented by Golf Pride Grips recipient, Schreyer is a finalist for the fourth time (2017, 2019, 2020), and was recognized as the Collegiate Conference of the South Coach of the Year this season.
