MONTGOMERY, Ala.- In their final home contest of the 2026 season, Huntingdon Men's Lacrosse got on the board first, but couldn't maintain their offensive efficiency throughout, falling 22-10 at the hands of the Piedmont University Lions.
The Hawks struck first on an unassisted goal from Tristan Dial, but Piedmont responded with a 7-1 run to close the opening quarter and never looked back. Huntingdon added a late goal from Kelcey Marston, but trailed 7-2 after one and 12-2 at the break as Piedmont continued to capitalize offensively.
Piedmont pushed its lead to 15-2 early in the third before Huntingdon showed life with a 4-1 run, highlighted by a man-up goal from Connor Angst and two scores from Jaxon McMonigle to cut the deficit to 16-6 heading into the fourth.
McMonigle led the Hawks with three goals and two assists, while Angst added two goals and Nico Palmieri contributed a goal and an assist. Jacob Green and Hunter Rives also found the net in the second half.
Despite the late push, Piedmont answered each Huntingdon run and maintained control down the stretch, handing the Hawks the conference loss at home.
The Hawks close out the regular season on Saturday, April 18th at Brevard. Gametime is set for 1:00 PM CT.
