Men's Lacrosse Downs Brevard On The Road, Enters USA South Tournament As 6 Seed
BREVARD, NC.- Closing out the regular season on the road against USA South conference rival Brevard, Huntingdon Men's Lacrosse lit it up on the offensive end en route to a 26-3 blowout victory.
With their win today, the Hawks have solidified their position as the 6th seed in the USA South Conference Tournament. They'll travel to face off with the #3 seeded Piedmont University Lions on Saturday, April 25th in the first round.
The Hawks set the tone early, closing the first quarter on a quick two-goal burst to take a 3-1 lead, then blew the game open in the second by scoring seven times to carry a commanding 10-3 advantage into halftime. Huntingdon never let up after the break, erupting for eight third-quarter goals and adding eight more in the fourth to seal the lopsided win.
A balanced offensive effort powered the Hawks, with Hunter Rives leading the way with six goals and two assists. Jaxon McMonigle added four goals, while JT Klam (two goals, two assists), Kelcey Marston (two goals, three assists), and Nico Palmieri (two goals) all contributed to the scoring surge. Josh Knost facilitated the offense with three assists, and 14 different Hawks recorded at least one point.
Huntingdon controlled possession throughout, outshooting Brevard 66-21 and holding a 62-26 edge in ground balls. The Hawks also capitalized on extra-man opportunities, converting three times, while the defense held Brevard scoreless on all man-up chances.
In goal, Bosco Noto earned the win with six saves in the first half, while Mason Good shut the door in the second half with five saves to preserve the three-goal total.
