Rory Gilroy Earns CCS Track And Field Rookie Of The Year Honors

MONTGOMERY,Alabama.- Following an exceptional Freshman campagin, the Collegiate Conference of the South has named Huntingdon's Rory Gilroy as the conference Rookie of the Year.

Gilroy made an impact as a rookie, earning the CCS Track Rookie of the Week title three times. His prowess was particularly evident at the CCS Championship, where he finished second in the 400m hurdles and third in the 110m hurdles. As the anchor of the 4x400m relay team, he played a crucial role in guiding the Hawks to a second-place finish in the event. Throughout the season, he left a lasting mark on his school's track and field records, setting an impressive five records in the 100m, 110m hurdles, 400m hurdles, 4x100m relay, and 4x400m relay. His consistent and outstanding performances earned him recognition not only for his athletic abilities but also for his sportsmanship, as he was named to the all-sportsmanship team, reflecting his positive impact on and off the track.
