Huntingdon Cross Country Takes On CCS Championships
JACKSON, Miss.- After taking on a regular season that featured five different competitions, Huntingdon cross country concluded with the Collegiate Conference of the South Championships hosted by Belhaven University.
The women's team finished seventh overall, with an average 6000m time of 30:50. The Eagles of Asbury University walked away with the title, boasting an average time of 25:18.
Kate Smith led the Hawks, finishing 17th overall with a time of 26:06.
As for the men, the Hawks placed sixth overall, holding an average 8000m time of 32:21. The Covenant College Scots took the title, just escaping Piedmont with an average time of 27:40.
Blake Bailey crossed the line first for the Hawks, coming in 20th place overall with a time of 29:15.
In addition to finishing first for the Hawks on each squad, Smith and Bailey each were named to the conference's all-sportsmanship team.
