Cross Country Takes On The Azalea City Classic

MOBILE, Ala.- Returning to the course following their showing at John Hunt Park, Huntingdon Cross Country traveled South to compete in the Azalea City Cross Country Classic hosted by the University of South Alabama. 

With just four runners crossing the finish line, the men's team could not qualify for a team score. South Alabama walked away victorious at their home meet in the men's 7000m race, scoring 27 points en route to victory. Hayes Brockett continued his solid season, crossing the finish line first for the Hawks and in 46th place overall, finishing with a time of 31 minutes. Levi Garrett came in two minutes behind with Jameson Jessup and Dylan Horton rounding things out. 

As for the women's team, the Hawks finished 5th overall as a team, scoring 138 points. The University of New Orleans would claim the women's race as a team, scoring 34 points in their narrow victory over South Alabama. Michaela Moore continued to impress for Huntingdon, placing 18th overall in the 3 mile race with a time of 20:42. Adrianna Morning crossed the finish line next with Evie Garrett, Hadyn Owens, and Arianna Morning closing things out. 

Huntingdon Cross Country returns to action on October 17th at the Watson Collegiate Classic hosted by Mississippi College.
