Gorden Tied For 26th After Round One
PALM DESERT, Cali.- Entering the 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Golf National Championship as the top-seeded individual qualifier, Huntingdon's Yvette Gorden sits in a tie for 26th out of 176 golfers at the conclusion of round one.
Gorden, the USA South Athletic Conference runner-up, opened this year's championship with a two-over par 74 in the first 18 holes on the Mountain View course at the Desert Willow Golf Resort. She is currently tied with eight different golfers and is 5 strokes off of Toral Bhatt's(Washington and Lee) lead. On the front nine, Gorden posted a three-over par 39, but recovered nicely with a 35(-1) after turning the corner.
Yvette tees off for the second round, this time on the Firecliff course, tomorrow, May 20th, at 9:40 AM CT.
