Montgomery, Ala.-Huntingdon Women's Lacrosse opened their season with a loss against Oglethorpe, 17-11.
Oglethorpe opened the scoring at 11:06 of the first quarter before Michaela Haas tied it at 8:45 of the first quarter. Oglethorpe added 2 more goals in the first quarter and opened the second quarter with their 4th goal. Reagan Bullock and Jordan Alvis scored at 11:29 and 8:12, respectively. Reagan Bullock collected her second goal of the game and Shelby Blair added 2 unassisted goals before halftime to tie it 6-6.
Oglethorpe added 3 goals in the third quarter and Reagan Bullock added her third goal to make it 9-7 after the third quarter. Oglethorpe added 8 additional goals while Reagan Bullock scored 3 more goals. Michaela Haas added her second goal of the game at 11:03 but the Hawks were not able to make the comeback.
Bullock ended with 6 goals on 8 shots while both Haas and Blair collected 2 goals. Alvis scored her first goal of the season on 2 shots. Morgan Coppini made 17 saves on 34 shots and had 6 ground balls.
Huntingdon was 14-17 on clear attempts and collected 25 shots.
The Hawks are back in action at home on Saturday, February 12th, when they take on Brenau at 1:00 PM CST.
