Women's Lacrosse Falls To Methodist At Home

MONTGOMERY, Ala.- Returning to action at Charles Lee Field at Samford Stadium following their loss to Piedmont on Wednesday, Huntingdon Women's Lacrosse scored the first goal of the afternoon, but couldn't maintain their offensive efficiency in a 19-3 conference loss to the Monarchs of Methodist University.

The Hawks struck first when Reagan Barrett found the net unassisted just 35 seconds into the contest. Methodist answered shortly after and used a five-goal run to close the opening quarter with a 5–1 lead. The visitors continued to build momentum in the second period, adding six more goals to extend the margin to 11–1 at halftime.

Huntingdon found the scoreboard again in the third quarter when Kate Hudson converted off an assist from Kylie Jo Stevenson, but Methodist maintained control throughout the frame. The Hawks added one more late in the fourth as Molly Turnan finished a feed from Stevenson to round out the scoring.

Barrett, Hudson and Turnan each scored for Huntingdon, while Stevenson recorded two assists. Hudson led the team with three shots and two draw controls, while Barrett also contributed four draw controls. Defensively, Sydney Mikula and Kendall Hallas combined for six saves in goal. Huntingdon finished the game with 11 ground balls and eight draw controls, while forcing 14 turnovers from the visitors.

The Hawks will look to bounce back on March 21st at Brevard. Gametime is set for 10:00 AM CT.
