Cross Country Closes Regular Season At Watson Collegiate Classic

CLINTON, Miss.- Traveling to the Choctaw Cross Country Trails for the final meet of the regular season, Huntingdon Cross Country closed things out at the Watson Collegiate Classic hosted by NCAA Division II Mississippi College. 

Competing in a field of 24 teams, the men did not qualify for a team score as only two athletes crossed the finish line. Hayes Brockett continued to lead the way for Huntingdon with an 8000m time of 33:55, a personal record for the freshman. Dylan Horton was the second and final Hawks to complete the race, finishing with a time of 46:29. 

The Women's team maintained their positive trend upwards, finishing 17th and scoring 467 points. Competing in their first 6000m race of the season, Michaela Moore crossed the line first, finishing 63rd overall with a time of 25:37. Evie Garrett finished next with a time of 31:30, and Adrianna Morning, Hadyn Owens, Arianna Morning, and Sydney Thompson rounded things out for the Hawks. 

The next time the Hawks return to the course, it will be for the Collegiate Conference of the South Championship. The meet is set for Friday, October 31st at John Hunt Park in Huntsville, Alabama.
